Dark World
Reverb Blender
Dark World is no longer available for purchase.
Dual space simulator:
One natural, one impossible.
Good old reverb, tucked in the folds of every song you’ve ever heard, bouncing around every room you’ve ever entered. With Dark World, we wanted to see if we could bring a bit of mystery back to it. Let you enter a new kind of space – slightly wrong, or a bit too perfect.
Dark World is a reverb blender. It combines one channel of natural algorithms with another made up of surreal atmospheres. You can billow, drip, and bloom, just like reverb should, or hang, sizzle and oscillate, just like it can’t. Or both. 33 distinct ways to mix, match, and make space.

Spread out across a collection of natural algorithms on the World Channel.
Wade into impossible and endless reflections with the Dark Channel.
Design unique reverb chains with the series routings.
Be in two places at once with the parallel routing.
Making space
for idiosyncrasies.
Blending, splitting, and cascading reverb is what Dark World is all about. Processing one reverb with another, or separating them into a parallel brew. Cast a dripping spring into a broken VHS tape, freeze a swelling hall, etc. Whichever reverb is last in the chain becomes more dominant–tame Dark’s idiosyncrasies by sending it through World, or flip the order and lean in.
3x natural algorithms
Dark World is loaded with Spring, Plate and Hall algorithms, the variety pack of essential reverbs. They represent one, two and three dimensions of reflection, each with their own unique strengths and uses.

3x impossible algorithms
The Dark channel toys with the idea of what makes a reverb a reverb. Does it need to decay? Not really. Can you pitch-shift space? Probably. Each of the Dark algorithms challenge physics in their own way.

Dynamic control
Black mode taps into a unique kind of infinite reverb that goes on forever … until you want it to stop. It reacts to your dynamics – play a loud note to wipe the slate clean and start again.
Dark World was our first completely digital effect. It was a bit of a moment for us.
Expand and integrate

Why is my MIDI controller inconsistent when engaging the Dark channel?
The MIDI jack also controls the left footswitch via the Tip of the TRS. If this isn't isolated, you can accidentally trigger this footswitch. Simple fix is to cut the Tip connection on one or both ends of your TRS.
What does the threshold do on Black mode? Is it like gated reverb?
Not quite. The Black mode threshold doesn’t gate - or mute - your input signal. Instead, it sets the point where new audio replaces the currently frozen audio.
